We want you to understand exactly how Calligris works before you reach out. This page covers how we price, how we communicate, and what to expect from working with us.
We do not publish fixed price lists because calligraphy commissions vary significantly in scope. A single name piece takes different time and materials than a full wedding suite for two hundred guests. Instead, we provide a clear quote after understanding your project.
Quotes include the cost of materials, the time required, and any delivery. There are no hidden additions after a quote is agreed. If your project changes in scope, we discuss revised pricing before proceeding.
Workshop fees are fixed and stated clearly when sessions are announced. What you see is what you pay.
Every commission timeline is discussed and agreed before work begins. We communicate realistic timeframes. Calligraphy takes time to do well, and rushing produces results nobody is happy with.
We provide updates at key stages. You will see a digital layout before any ink touches paper on larger commissions. Physical delivery within Egypt is handled through reliable courier services.
If something unexpected affects a timeline, we tell you immediately rather than waiting until the last moment.
We include revision rounds in every commission. The number depends on project scale and is specified in your quote. Revisions cover changes to layout, style, and wording before final execution.
Once a piece is physically created, corrections to errors on our part are handled at no additional cost. Changes requested after completion that differ from the agreed brief may involve additional fees, which we discuss openly.
To commission work from us, you need nothing more than an idea and a way to communicate it. We do not require clients to have any knowledge of calligraphy styles, scripts, or terminology.
To join a workshop, you do not need prior experience, any tools of your own, or any background in art. We explain everything from the beginning. Our workshops are genuinely open to everyone.
We create original calligraphy and hand lettering. We do not produce digitally generated or printed work that mimics handwriting. Everything that leaves our studio is made by hand.
We work in Arabic and English scripts. We do not currently offer calligraphy in other languages. If you are unsure whether your project fits what we do, contact us and we will give you an honest answer.
Information you share with us to complete a commission or register for a workshop is used only for that purpose. We do not share your contact details with third parties for marketing purposes.
Our full data handling practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
We say what we mean about timelines, costs, and what is achievable.
Every piece we produce is made by a human hand with real tools and ink.
No background, certification, or prior knowledge needed to work with us.
We are a small studio in Dokki, Giza. We know our community and care about it.
