Calligris grew from a simple belief: that beautiful writing belongs to everyone. We work from our studio in Dokki, Giza, creating hand lettered pieces that carry genuine feeling. Whether you come to us with a wedding date, a meaningful quote, or simply an idea, we shape it into something lasting.
Our approach draws from both Arabic and Latin calligraphy traditions, blending classical forms with contemporary design sensibility. Every piece is made by hand, with real ink on real paper.
Our ApproachA selection of commissions and personal pieces from our studio. Each project reflects the specific vision of the person who asked for it.
From single cards to full suites including envelopes, menus, and programs. We work in both Arabic and English, or a combination of both. The design process starts with understanding your wedding aesthetic, then we develop lettering styles that feel right for your day.

Our small team brings together calligraphers with backgrounds in Arabic script, contemporary lettering, and graphic design.
Salma established Calligris after years of studying both classical Arabic scripts and contemporary Western calligraphy. She leads all major commissions and teaches the foundational workshops.
Omar specializes in modern brush lettering and event signage. His background in graphic design shapes how he approaches composition and scale, particularly for large format pieces.
Dina focuses exclusively on classical Arabic scripts including Thuluth, Diwani, and Ruq'ah. She handles Quranic verses, formal documents, and projects requiring deep knowledge of Arabic letterform traditions.
Youssef manages the workshop program, handles scheduling, and assists students during sessions. He is often the first point of contact for anyone new to the studio.
